This is why I'm bringing an Introduction to Personal Finance as my first course. This class is a very high level overview designed to get students thinking about smart financial decisions as they begin to enter the work force or college.  I am providing a basic understanding of money matters that will put them on a path for financial responsibility in the future.

 

The outline for this class includes understanding financial terms, banking, understanding their pay stub, taxes, deductions etc., and setting up a simple budget. We will also stress sensible use and risks of credit cards, understanding the impact of your credit score, and a very brief introduction to early investing in their future, such as a 401K.
